Country’s lowest temperature of 7.7 degrees Celsius was recorded in Tetulia of Panchagarh district as a mild cold wave is sweeping Rangpur division and it may continue, said the Met office.

According to the regular bulletin of the Met office, “Moderate to thick fog may occur over the river basins of the country and light to moderate fog may occur elsewhere over the country from midnight to morning.”

Inland river transport may be disrupted temporarily due to thick fog.

Besides, the weather may remain dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country.

Night temperature may fall slightly and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it said.

UNB Kurigram correspondent reports that Kurigram is experiencing a mild cold wave and the local Met office has recorded 8.7 degrees Celsius temperature at 9am on Thursday.

People, especially day labourers and farmers have been suffering as they have to go out amid severe cold.

Subal Chandra Sarkar, officer-in-charge of Kurigram Rajarhat Weather Observatory Centre, said the temperature of the district drops suddenly and the temperature will rise after rain.
