Mild heat wave likely to continue

A mild heat wave is sweeping over many places of the country and it may continue and spread, said a weather forecast issued by the Bangladesh Metrology Department (BMD) in Dhaka on Wednesday.

“Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Chattogram, Rangamati, Feni, Cox’s Bazar, Bandarban and Patuakhali and it may continue and spread,” said the bulletin valid for the next 24 hours commencing 9am Wednesday.

The weather may remain mainly dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky over the country, it added. Day and night temperatures may rise by 1-2 degrees Celsius over the country.

The country’s maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 37.7 degrees Celsius at Bandarban while Wednesday’s minimum temperature 19.2 degrees Celsius was recorded at Tetulia.

However, no rainfall was recorded across the country during the last 24 hours.

The sun sets at 6:25pm on Wednesday and rises at 5:27am Thursday in the capital.
