Mild heatwave is sweeping over Khulna division and it may abate at some places, said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin valid for 24 hours commencing at 9:00am on Sunday.

"Rain or thundershower with temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at many places over Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over the country," it added.

However, the day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 37.6 degrees Celsius at Khulna and minimum temperature today was 21.8 degrees Celsius at Ishurdi.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6:00am on Sunday was recorded 39mm at Teknaf.
