The ongoing mild heat wave may continue in some regions of the country, said a Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) bulletin valid for 24 hours commencing 9:00am Sunday.

"Mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Rangamati, Sayedpur, Khulna, Mongla, Satkhira and Jashore and it may continue and spread," said the bulletin.

"Rain or thundershowers with intense lightning flashes and temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions," it added.

However, the day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Country's maximum temperature on Saturday was recorded 37.0 degrees Celsius at Rangamati and minimum temperature on Sunday was 22.4 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours till 6:00am on Sunday was recorded 48 mm in Tetulia.

The sun sets at 6.31 pm on Sunday and rises at 5.19 am on Monday in the capital.
