Mild heat wave is sweeping over the country's many places and it may spread, according to a weather forecast issued by Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Friday.

"Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Barishal division and the districts of Dhaka, Faridpur, Madaripur, Moulvibazar, Chattogram, Rangamati, Feni and Bandarban and it may spread," said the bulletin valid for the 24 hours starting from 9am Friday.

The weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country. Day and night temperatures may rise slightly over the country, the weather bulletin also said.

Country's maximum temperature on Thursday was recorded at 40 degrees Celsius at Rangamati and the minimum temperature on Friday was 19.4 degrees Celsius at Tetulia.

The sun sets at 6.19pm and rises at 5.40am on Saturday in the capital.
