The government on Thursday lowered Covid-19 vaccination age from 30 to 25 years to bring more people under the inoculation coverage amid the increase of deaths and infection across the country.

Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) director and also spokesperson Robed Amin said that the government has a target to gradually reduce the age limit to 18 years.

As part of the initiative, the government is reducing the age limit by phases, he said.

The government started a mass vaccination programme on February 7 with a minimum age for registration of 55. Subsequently, the minimum age was reduced in several phases.

Now, citizens aged 25 and above will be able to sign up for registration for vaccines using the government website, surokkha.gov.bd.
