Agriculture Minister Md. Abdur Razzak has requested private seed companies to make less profit and help country's agriculture flourish.
The minister made the call at an online meeting with various stakeholders on Monday morning from his residence.
The minister said that farmers along with all others from various professions are going through adverse conditions and to address this crisis, the government is undertaking various incentives packages and subsidy programmes.
The government and private seed companies should come forward in this crisis period so that farmers get seed at cheaper prices, he said.
Meanwhile, the government has already allocated subsidy amounting to Tk 20 crore for the sale of 19,500 tons of aman paddy seeds of BADC.
