Miscreants set fire to three passenger buses in the city on Tuesday night, the day before start of the fifth phase blockade programme of BNP-Jamaat and its like-minded political organizations.
Confirming the matter to BSS, Fire Service and Civil Defence media cell officer-in-charge Mohammad Shahjahan Shikder today said miscreants torched two buses of Manarat International University located at Mirput-1 Beribad area of the capital around 8.26pm last night.
Later, two units of Kalyanpur fire station doused the blaze upon receiving the information, he added.
Besides, unknown criminals set fire to a double-decker BRTC bus in the capital's Mirpur-10 on Tuesday night around 9.28pm, he said.
A private car was set on fire at Dhanmondi-27 Wednesday morning.
However, no casualty was reported in the incidents so far.
During the time span between October 28- November 13, a total of 154 arson-terrorisms such as setting fire to vehicles have occurred across the country including the capital-Dhaka.
