A day after a 35-year-old actress went missing, her body was found in a sack near a bridge in the district's Keraniganj upazila on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Raima Islam Shimu.
Abu Salam Mia, officer-in-charge of Keraniganj Model Police Station, said local people spotted the body near Alipur Bridge in the Kadamtoli area of the upazila around 10:00am and informed cops.
“The body bore several injury marks. We suspect she was killed by criminals on Sunday itself and her body was later dumped in the area," the officer said.
The body was sent to Mitford Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
A case of unnatural death was filed at the police station.
