Police on Sunday recovered the body of a man inside a car parked on a road in Dhaka’s Tejgaon area.
The victim, Sajal Chandra Ghosh, a driver by profession, was reported missing since October 7.
“Sajal was the driver of the seized SUV that belongs to private firm UDC Construction Ltd,” said Dhaka Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner (Tejgaon division) Md Shahidullah.
Local people informed police after they smelled foul odour coming from the car, he added.
Police along with the crime scene unit of Criminal Investigation Department went to the spot, the DC said, adding that they found the body after breaking the window glass of the car covered with dust.
Younger brother of the victim and UDC Construction employees confirmed the identity the body, he said.
An investigation is on over the matter, the police official added.
On October 7, the authorities of the construction firm filed a complaint with Dhanmondi police station after the driver went missing with the car.
