In separate incidents, mobs have attacked the offices of English daily The Daily Star and Bengali daily Desh Rupantor in Dhaka.

An unidentified group of people threw bricks at The Daily Star Center on Kazi Nazrul Islam Avenue in the capital around 4pm on Sunday. This incident took place during a clash among protesters, law enforcers, and Awami League activists.

The miscreants destroyed glass doors and glass panels on the ground floor of the building.

A different group of miscreants attacked the Rupayan tower in Bangla Motor in the capital today around 6:15pm. They specifically attacked the office of Dainik Desh Rupantor located in that building.

The attackers went up to the four floors of Rupayan Tower, attacking, vandalising and setting fire to the ground floor of the building. Apart from this, the attackers burned several cars in the tower’s underground area.

Pavel Haider Chowdhury, the special correspondent of Dainik Desh Rupantor, told the media, "The attackers attacked and vandalised various floors of the building. Our newspaper office on the fourth floor of the building was also attacked.

“We were anxiously standing by the door of the building's exit stairs. Forty-five minutes after the incident, the police came, dispersed the attackers, and brought the situation under control.”
