Moderate to thick fog may occur in the country from midnight to Sunday morning and may continue till noon, said Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD).

A mild cold wave is sweeping over the Rajshahi division and the districts of Faridpur, Madaripur, Kishoreganj, Dinajpur, Nilphamari, Panchagarh, Jashore, Chuadanga, Kushtia, Satkhira and Barishal and it may abate from some places, the Met office said in a 24-hour forecast commencing at 9am Saturday.

Night and day temperatures may rise slightly over the country.

As the difference in temperatures between day and night is limited, moderate to severe cold is likely to be felt across the country, the BMD said.

The country's maximum temperature on Friday was recorded 26.7 degrees Celsius at Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar, while the minimum temperature on Saturday was 8.4 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga.

The sun sets at 5:26pm on Saturday and rises at 6:43am on Sunday in Dhaka.
