The weather department has predicted more rains across the country in the next 24 hours.

"Light rains accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at one or two places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions and weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy skies elsewhere over the country,” the department said in its bulletin on Tuesday.

The weather may remain mainly dry, with a temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country, it said.

Day temperature may fall slightly over the northwestern part and it may remain nearly unchanged elsewhere over the country. Night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, it added.

The mercury reached 34.5 degrees Celsius – the highest – in Chandpur, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 19.5 degrees in Tetulia of Rangpur division.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon has withdrawn from the northern part of Bangladesh. Conditions are favourable for further withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from the remaining part of Bangladesh, as per the bulletin.
