A woman and her daughter were dead and her husband was injured as a truck hit the motorbike carrying them on Toll Road in Halishahar area of Chattogram on Friday night.
The deceased Suraiya Nasrin, 28, and her daughter Aiyra, 3, were residents of Hillview Residential Area of Chattogram. Jillur Rahman, 36, Suraiya’s husband is injured.
Mohammad Parvez, sub-inspector of Halishahar police station, confirmed the development, saying that the accident happened around 11:15 pm when the speeding truck knocked down the bike in the Halishahar area, leaving the two dead on the spot and Jillur critically injured.
He was sent to Chittagong Medical College Hospital in critical condition, he said, adding that the trio was going to Patenga area from Hillview and Suraiya was pregnant.
