Police recovered the bodies of a 35-year-old woman and her two-year-old daughter from a hotel in Cox's Bazar on Friday afternoon.

According to the hotel register book, the mother was identified as Suma Dey, wife of Dulal Biswas from Chattogram's Banshkhali upazila.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station Rafiqul Islam said the couple booked a room at Hotel Sea Alif on February 14 with their two sons and a daughter. Later, they travelled to different areas of Cox's Bazar.

On Friday noon, the hotel boy saw their room open and found their bodies lying on the floor. Later, the hotel authorities called the made report of their discovery by dialling 999.

A police team rushed to the spot and took the bodies into custody around 2 pm upon being apprised, said the OC.

Dulal Biswas and the two sons have been missing since the bodies were discovered.

"A probe is on to ascertain the reason behind the killings," added OC Rafiqul Islam.

The bodies were sent to the morgue of a hospital for autopsy.
