The wife of the former state minister for information Dr Murad Hassan has filed a general diary with Dhanmondi Police station on Thursday accusing her husband of torturing her and issuing threats on her life.

Ikram Ali Mia, officer-in-charge of Dhanmondi Police Station, told The Business Post that a police team was sent to the former state minister’s house at Road 15 Dhanmondi after his wife brought the allegations of torture and threatening to kill her against him.

‘‘His wife filed a general diary. We are investigating the allegation" Ikram Ali Mia added.

Police said Dr Jahanara Ehsan, wife of former state minister, sought cooperation from police dialling the National Emergency Service 999.
