Public Administration Reforms Commission Chief Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury has said he saw justification for increasing the age of entry into the civil service.
“There is no doubt about the justification of increasing the limit for entry into the government job,” he said after a meeting with the job seekers of 35 years of age at Bangladesh Secretariat on Wednesday.
Muyeed Chowdhury said the committee constituted by the government has only one focus as a movement on the issue is going on for a long time.
“The committee will take a decision considering the existing policies, future working plan and overall situation,” he said.
Replying to a question about the justification of increasing the entry age into the government job, he said many aspirants faced problems due to COVID-19 and the session jam.
So, the age limit for entry into the present government service should be increased, he observed.
The interim government constituted the five-member committee on Monday to review the current age limit for entry into government jobs. The committee has been asked to submit recommendations within seven days.
