Md Abu Zahed, senior superintendent of Mymensingh Central Jail, died of Covid-19 while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka on Sunday (July 26).
He breathed his last around 1 pm, at Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital.
Muhammad Monzur Hossain, AIG (admin) of prisons, confirmed the matter to the media.
On July 11, Zahed was admitted to Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital where he passed away, said the AIG.
