Shahadat Hossain Sifat (18), another victim of Narayanganj mosque blast died at Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute on Saturday taking the death toll to 34.
Partha Sankar Pal, residential surgeon of the institute, confirmed the matter to the media on Tuesday.
Earlier on September 19, two other victims — Farid and Abdul Aziz — of the mosque blast died.
On the same day, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of Police arrested eight officials and staffers of Titas Gas in connection with the blast. And the arrestees secured bail within two days of their arrest.
On September 4, around 40 people were injured in the blast at a mosque in Fatullah after Esha prayers. Of them, 37 were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Locals said the explosion took place around 8:45 pm at Baitus Salat Mosque of Fatullah when the devotees had just finished their prayers.
One of the air conditioners of the mosque went off and sparked a fire inside the mosque. Later, all the six ACs exploded there, creating panic among the devotees.
Upon initial investigation, fire service authorities believed the incident might have occurred due to gas leakage.
