The namaz-e-janaza of Education Minister Dipu Moni's mother Rahima Wadud was held around 5:30pm on Sunday.
Education Minister Dipu Moni, her brother Jawadur Rahim Wadud Tipu, Minister of State for Culture KM Khalid, Minister of State for Religion Faridul Haque Khan, Deputy Minister for Water Resources AKM Enamul Haque Shamim, former vice-chancellor of National University Harun-or-Rashid's family members, various political leaders, her colleagues and others attended the janaza.
Rahima Wadud, mother of Awami League Joint General Secretary and Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, breathed her last around 12pm on Saturday at her residence in the city’s Kalabagan area, Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League Office Secretary Riaz Uddin told the media.
Rahima is survived by a son, a daughter, and many relatives and friends.
She is the wife of a language movement hero and Bangabandhu’s close associate late MA Wadud.
