Nari Maitree has urged the men and women of the country to work jointly for sustainable development while marking International Women’s Day 2022.   

They hope that the advancement of women will be further accelerated in the future with the conviction of equal contribution as men in building a happy, prosperous and democratic world, said a press release on Thursday.

To observe International Women’s Day, Nari Maitree organized a panel discussion and experience sharing meeting under the theme of "Scaling up Prevention Efforts that Address Unequal Gender Power Relations as a Root Cause of Gender-based Violence" at Hotel Best Western Heritage on Wednesday. 

Samuel Komakech, integrated protection coordinator, IRC, Sofia Cánovas Pereda, BRAC Program Manager and UNFPA GBV Sub-Sector Coordinator Sarah Hossain and Naim Ahamed, technical manager- hygiene, NGO Forum for Public Health, Shaheen Akhtar Dolly, executive director, Nari Maitree were present at the panel discussion.

Shaheen Akhtar Dolly, executive director, Nari Maitree wished and congratulated all the women of the world, “Women with their talents and labour have ensured equal participation in all the progress and development of civilization through eras.”

"Education, reproductive health rights, and self-change are three things that bring transformative changes and can break the bias." Manish Agrawal, country director, IRC stated.
