National Blood Foundation celebrates 3rd anniversary

The National Blood Foundation-Bangladesh (NBF-BD) celebrated its 3rd anniversary on Friday. The day-long event was held at the National Archives Auditorium in the capital’s Agargaon area with a procession, balloon flying, award distribution and discussion.

Two-hundred representatives from all over the country participated in the function.

Former President of Dhaka University Journalists' Association Mir Mohammad Jasim, President of Yes 21 School Rafiqul Islam Khan, Managing Director of JR Architect and Engineering Zahirul Islam Ripon, Founding Director of Idris Nafiza Foundation Dr Md Safizal Islam Munna, Senior Vice President of Bangladesh Medical Technologist Alliance Golam Rasool Swapan, Bangladesh Medical Technologists Alliance Secretary Shamim Shah, Qoumi Udyaikta and Samyatri founder Maulana Rokan Ryan and NBF-BD Director Raihan Hussain were present as the guests at the programme.

Founder Director Mashraf Hossain Farabi, Dhaka Divisional Coordinator Abder Rahman Rakib, Barisal Divisional Coordinator Mahbubur Rahman Tamim, Barishal Divisional Co-Founder Mansoor Al Amin, Khulna Divisional Co-Coordinator Zarif Hossain, Co-Founder Kabi Shahadat Riday, Barisal Divisional Co-Coordinator Koli Akhtar, Bhela district team leader Md. Rakib also spoke at the event.

The organisers said they provided 20,000 bags of blood to the patients across the country in 3 years. At least 2,000 members of the NBF-BD are working to provide the blood.
