National Professor Dr Anisuzzaman, who died on Thursday (May 14), was laid to eternal rest at Azimpur graveyard in Dhaka on Friday (May 15) morning.
He was buried next to his father's grave following the government’s burial rules at around 10:30 am.
Dr Anisuzzaman’s younger brother Md Aktaruzzaman confirmed the matter to The Business Post.
Health guidelines were maintained during the burial as he was tested coronavirus positive after death, said Aktaruzzaman.
Dr Anisuzzaman, also a freedom fighter, was given state guard of honour.
He died at the Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka at the age of 83.
