The Bangladesh National Zoo at Mirpur in the capital will reopen its doors to visitors on Friday, following health guidelines.

It will remain open from 9:00am to 6:00pm, according to a notice issued by the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock on Thursday.

Alongside the National Zoo, Rangpur Zoo will also reopen from Friday, the notice said.

Earlier in April, the ministry decided to keep the zoos closed until further notice to contain the spread of coronavirus infection.

On August 12, the Cabinet Division announced that tourist spots and amusement parks would be allowed to reopen on August 19, on the condition of maintaining strict health guidelines set by the government.
