A 100-year-old woman named Lekjan Bewa cast her vote in Natore’s Singra upazila on Sunday.
The centenarian woman, a resident of the Anandanagar area, came to the Chak Kalikapur Technical Institute polling centre in Chamari union with her daughter-in-law to exercise her constitutional rights bright and early in the morning.
Lekjan’s daughter-in-law Alpana Begum said that her widowed mother-in-law is over 100 years old. She brought Lekjan along as she was eager to vote in the 12th national election.
After voting, Lekjan Bewa said that she was happy to be able to vote for her preferred candidate.
