Nayeemul Islam Khan appointed as PM's Press Secretary

Nayeemul Islam Khan, the emeritus editor of Daily Amader Notun Shomoy, has been appointed as Press Secretary to the Prime Minister with the status of a secretary on a contractual basis.

The Public Administration Ministry issued a gazette notification to this end on Thursday.

The notification mentioned that Khan will remain in office for the duration of the Prime Minister's term or subject to her satisfaction from the date of his joining.

He will get a fixed salary of Tk 78,000 and other benefits as well.

The order was issued in the public interest, reads the notice.

The post of PM’s press secretary has remained vacant since the death of former press secretary Ihsanul Karim Helal who passed away on March 10.
