NCTB provides corrections for class 6, 7 textbooks

The National Curriculum and Textbook Board (NCTB) has provided corrections for mistakes they found in the textbooks for classes 6 and 7, distributed for this year, nearly four months after the textbooks were distributed.

All the corrections were provided in detail on the NCTB website on Friday.

On February 10 this year, the NCTB issued a notice instructing educational institutes to not teach the newly introduced inquiry-based textbook for the history and social science subject in classes 6 and 7, while changes will be made to some other books too.

Necessary corrections will also be made to the other history and social science textbook that has not been withdrawn but will undergo changes to at least four chapters. Class 6 science textbook will also see changes to one chapter, the notice stated.

Earlier, the NCTB provided corrections for nine mistakes they found in three of the textbooks distributed for this year.

NCTB issued a notification in this regard on January 15, 2023, and posted the corrections on its website.

The mistakes were spotted in three textbooks of classes 9-10.

Four mistakes were found in ‘History of Bangladesh and World Civilization’, three in ‘Bangladesh and Global Studies’ and two in ‘Civics and Citizenships’.
