Three people including a newborn were killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and an ambulance in Rangpur on Sunday.
The adult deceased are – Borat, 30, and Rafiqul Islam, 40.
The accident took place at Saleyasha Bazar adjacent to the Kharubaz Bridge on the Rangpur-Dinajpur highway around 5:30 am, confirmed Taraganj Highway Police Officer-in-Charge Sheikh Mohammad Mahbub Morshed.
“The ambulance was heading to Rangpur Medical College Hospital from Nilphamari Health Complex when the bus ‘Bhai Bhai Express’ collided with it. The injured were rushed to Rangpur Medical College Hospital where three were declared dead,” he added.
