The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Sunday said a piece of news that has been circulating in the country's media outlets in the form of TV scrolls on a 7-day general holiday is "fake".
A press release signed by the ministry's public relations officer Maidul Islam confirmed the matter saying no such decision has been made to announce a holiday from March 26 to April 4.
In the press release, Maidul Islam said, "A statement in the name of Health Secretary Abdul Mannan is being aired as a scroll on some TV channels on a 7-day general holiday, which is Completely untrue and upsetting."
He requested the concerned television channels to remove the scrolls immediately.
