The National Museum of Science and Technology (NMST) on Tuesday arranged a free visit of destitute children to the museum considering their financial hardship.

Six hundred students from Govt Agargaon Primary School, Taltola Primary school, Swadesh Mirttika School, Hossainiya Madrasha, Alomnogar Madrasha, Provat Ananda School visited the museum for four hours and enjoyed science exhibits and movies, read a press release.

They were also provided basic science knowledge and modern technological innovation by museum officials. Such children cannot visit the museum for financial constraints. Realizing the matter, NMST has taken the initiative for underprivileged children to provide free science education.

In this regard, NMST DG Muhammad Munir Chowdhury said, “The poor children including the low-income group people have the right to acquire science knowledge by visiting the museum, which is an enormous source of knowledge.

“It’s their constitutional and basic right. NMST feels that poor students from the destitute society have a large potential to be scientists, researchers, or experts like Newton, Albert Einstein, and Stephen Hawking.”
