Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Tuesday said that there is no crisis of oxygen gas in the country at this moment. “Our oxygen management does not have to depend on any other country,” he added.
“It was not needed to import oxygen from India or any other country throughout the year. Some oxygens were imported from India during the corona peak time,” the minister said at a press briefing at the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons premises in Mohakhali Tuesday.
“Now India is going through a tough time. In this crisis situation, even if India stops supplying oxygen, there is nothing to worry about. Our capacity is much higher to produce oxygen gas rather than liquid oxygen,” Zahid Maleque added.
Informing that Russia, China and the United States are being contacted for Covid-19 vaccines, the ministered expressed his hope to get a positive response from them.
