Internet Service Providers Association of Bangladesh (ISPAB) President Md Emdadul Hoque said even though the mobile internet services have been stopped, no order has been given yet to shutdown the broadband internet.

Speaking to The Business Post, he added, “We have not yet received any instructions to disable broadband internet. And even if the mobile internet has been turned off, the broadband internet services will continue.

“However, social media may remain blocked.”

Amid protests and violence, mobile internet and broadband internet were shut down in Bangladesh from the night of July 17 and July 18 respectively. On the night of July 23, broadband internet services resumed in the country on a limited scale.

On July 28, 4G internet services resumed on mobile devices.
