Khandaker Muniruzzaman, acting editor of Daily Sangbad, died after being diagnosed with coronavirus infection. He was 71.
He breathed his last at 7:20am on Tuesday at Mugda Hospital in Dhaka.
Daily Sangbad’s literary editor poet Obayed Akash confirmed the news to The Business Post.
Muniruzzaman tested positive for Covid-19 one month ago and was admitted to Mugda Medical College Hospital two weeks ago, Akash said.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death Muniruzzaman.
In a message of condolence, she prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
