NSDA holds seminar on skills trend of 21st century

National Skills Development Authority (NSDA) under the Prime Minister's Office held a seminar titled "Skills Trend of 21st Century: Country Perspectives, Policy Options and Intervention" on Sunday.

Organised by NSDA, the seminar was held at the Multipurpose Hall of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), said a press release.

Senior Secretary Md Tofazzel Hossain Miah of the Prime Minister’s Office attended the function as the chief guest, while NSDA Executive Chairman (Secretary) Dulal Krishna Saha presided over the ceremony.

Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority (BEZA) Executive Chairman (Senior Secretary) Sheikh Yusuf Harun was present as the special guest.

Policy Exchange of Bangladesh Chairman Dr M Masrur Reaz delivered the keynote speech at the event, while NSDA member Md Nurul Amin delivered the welcome speech on the occasion.

BIDS Senior Research Fellow Kazi Iqbal was the chief discussant in the function.

Among others, Agro Food ISC Chairman and CEO Shafiqur Rahman Bhuiyan, University of Dhaka Department of Economics Associate Professor Dr Atonu Rabbani, CPD Research Director Dr Khandaker Golam Moazzem, and FBCC Senior Vice President Mostofa Azad Chowdhury Babu were also present at the event.

NSDA is working to motivate the youth of the country in skills training, mobilise human resources through acquiring of skills, build bridges of skill development with different countries and create new employment opportunities, the release added.
