NTV Chief of Program dies from coronavirus

Television channel NTV's Chief of Program Mustafa Kamal Syed died on Sunday from Covid-19 in the intensive care unit of Square Hospitals. He was aged 78.

Syed was admitted to Square Hospitals on May 11 after testing positive for coronavirus.

Moreover, it has been known that some makeup artists, news presenters, camerapersons and drivers of the television channel have also been tested positive for coronavirus.

Syed had been a senior member of NTV since 2003, the year the channel was inaugurated. Before joining NTV, he was the former Deputy General Manager of Bangladesh Television (BTV) since before independence.

His burial will take place in Banani Graveyard after Magrib prayers, following the Covid-19 burial protocols.
