A case has been filed against former vice-president (VP) of Dhaka University Central Students' Union (Ducsu) Nurul Haque Nur under Digital Security Act (DSA) for making 'obscene comments' on Facebook Live against a student who previously filed another case against Nur alleging him of complicity in rape.

The case was filed on Wednesday with the court of Dhaka Cyber Tribunal Judge Md As-Shams Jaglul Hossain.

Judge Md As-Shams Jaglul Hossain himself confirmed the matter to the media.

The plaintiff, a female student of Dhaka University, filed a rape case earlier against six people, including Nurul Haque Nur with Lalbagh police station on September 21. Later, the student filed another case against them with Kotwali police station.

The student has been on a fast-unto-death at the university campus since October 8, demanding arrests for Nur and the other accused in the rape case.

In response to the fasting, Nur, on a recent Facebook Live, claimed himself and the other suspects "innocent" and called the plaintiff "characterless".
