Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader was admitted to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) with chest pain on Tuesday.
“He was hospitalised after he complained of chest pain,” said Awami League office secretary Biplab Barua.
The hospital authorities and AL have urged visitors to refrain from crowding the hospital.
Quader, also Awami League general secretary, had undergone a bypass surgery on March 20, 2019 at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore for three blockages in his coronary artery.
