Officer-in-Charge of Teknaf Model Police Station Pradeep Kumar Das and six other police members have been suspended in connection with the murder of retired Major Sinha Md Rashed Khan.
Sohel Rana, assistant inspector general (Media) at the police headquarters confirmed the news to The Business Post.
The others, who were suspended from the force are Sub-inspector Nandalal Rakkhit, Constables Safanur Karim, Kamal Hossain, Abdullah Al Mamun and Assistant Sub-Inspector Liton Mia.
Sources at the police headquarter said the suspension of Pradip Kumar Das and Liakat Ali had to come from the Police Headquarters since they are OC and SI ranked.
The other five were suspended after the Senior Judicial Court rejected the bail plea ordered to send them to jail.
