Officers-in-Charge (OC) of 4 police stations under Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) and 7 police stations in the district have been reshuffled as per instructions from the Election Commission ahead of the 12th parliamentary election.
The OCs of two of these police stations have been transferred out of the district. Meanwhile, the OCs of the remaining nine police stations have been transferred to other police stations within the district and the city.
Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Md Mozammel Haque said Sadar police station OC has been transferred to Aronghata police station, Aronghata police station OC to Sonadanga police station, Sonadanga police station OC to Khan Jahan Ali police station and Khan Jahan Ali police station OC to Khulna Sadar police station. They will join their new workplaces in a day or two.
Khulna Superintendent of Police Mohammad Saidur Rahman said the Officers-in-Charge of Rupsha, Dighalia, Batiaghata, Dumuria, Paikgachha, Fultala and Dacope police stations have been transferred.
The Officer-in-Charge of Dumuria police station has been transferred to Meherpur Sadar police station and Dakop police station OC to Mujibnagar police station.
Meanwhile, The Narail Sadar police station OC has been transferred to Dumuria police station, and Naragati police station OC to Paikgachha police station. The remaining five have been reshuffled within the district.
OCs of 7 police stations in Bagerhat reshuffled
Officers-in-charge of seven police stations in Bagerhat district have been reshuffled as per directives from the Election Commission ahead of the 12th parliamentary election.
A notification was issued from the Police Headquarters regarding the transfer of 338 OCs of 338 police stations on Thursday.
The reshuffle was done based on an official order signed by Md Kamrul Ahsan, additional IGP (admin) of Police Headquarters.
According to the notification, the list of transfers includes the OCs of seven police stations out of nine in Bagerhat.
Bagerhat Superintendent of Police Abul Hasnat Khan confirmed the matter and said the OCs will join their news stations soon after receiving a copy of the official order.
