One journalist was killed and at least 115 more were injured in attacks by various political and influential groups across Bangladesh in past three months.
Most of the attacks were carried out while the journalists were gathering news and some of the attacks were backlashes to published news items.
Our Media, Our Rights, a social media site Facebook-based journalists’ platform, published the statistics in a press release on Thursday.
At least 30 journalists were prosecuted in 21 cases across the country from January to March this year, the group said. Two of the cases were also filed under the Digital Security Act, which is widely denounced by journalists and human rights groups.
Thirty-eight journalists were also harassed in 29 various incidents and some of them faced death threats, the group said.
