Rail minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan has said that online ticket system was introduced to prevent ticket sale in the black market.
"Corruption in ticket sale will come down due to use of technology and people will get accustomed to the new system," he said while talking to journalists after visiting Kamalapur railway station on Sunday.
About health issues during the pandemic Sujan said, rail started to hit the tract amid pandemic following healthcare guidelines.
Rail minister also advised people to avoid unnecessary travelling.
He said that ticket seekers will needed to have NID cards on them while purchasing tickets and that the purpose of introducing online ticket system was also to ensure transparency and accountability in sales.
