Bangladesh Railways issued a notification in this regard on Thursday, saying passengers will be able to buy online tickets for the intercity trains through the portal — eticket.railway.gov.bd.

Earlier, the government suspended the sale of online tickets from March 21 to March 25 for facilitating the handover of responsibilities to a new service provider. Tickets were sold manually at the railway counters in the interim period.
Meanwhile, the ride sharing company, Shohoz, is going to manage the system dedicated to selling railway tickets online and offline from March 26.
Shohoz will succeed Computer Network Systems as the government’s contract with the latter ended on March 20.
