Public transportation will continue running on Dhaka city, its suburbs and inter-district routes during the hartal called for Sunday by Hefazat-e-Islam.
Khandaker Enayet Ullah, general secretary of Dhaka Road Transport Owners Association, said this in a press release on Saturday.
Representatives of the association at the meeting said, "We lose business if there is a hartal. Attempts to create misery by calling a hartal is not justifiable."
They also requested police administration to strengthen security at important places of the city so that there would be no obstruction to the movement of vehicles on the day.
