Local construction firm Padma Associates & Engineers Ltd is going to get the job of constructing 9 residential buildings at Rajarbagh Police Lines.
The residential tower buildings will be constructed to ease housing crisis for police members stationed in Dhaka Metropolitan area.
Home Ministry’s Security Services Division will place the proposal at cabinet committee meeting on public purchase for approval on Wednesday (September 2).
The meeting will take place virtually and Finance Minister AHM Mostafa Kamal will preside over the meeting.
According to the security services division proposal signed by its secretary Mohammad Shahiduzzaman, home ministry invited tender for the job earlier this year and Padma Associates & Engineers Ltd was the lowest bidder with quoting cost of 82.63 crore taka.
According to the proposal, each tower will be 20-story high and 650 sft each floor with 8 units.
Executive Committee of the National Economic Council approved the home ministry proposal titled ‘Construction of nine tower buildings for Dhaka Metropolitan Police’ in June 2018.
The project will cost 975.56 crore taka and will be completed by June 2021.
