The government earned about Tk 25 crore in revenue through tolls from Padma Bridge in the last seven days and more than Tk 16 crore has been collected from Bangabandhu Bridge over the last five days before Eid-ul-Azha.
The two main bridges of the country “Padma Bridge and Bangabandhu Bridge” set record for collecting highest toll, Bangladesh Bridge Authority confirmed the information to the media.
Around Tk 24.73 crore has been earned in the last 7 days — From June 10 to 10pm on June 16 — from 2.04 lakh vehicles passing Padma Bridge’s both ends.
Padma multipurpose bridge in 24 hours from midnight on June 14, 2024, collected highest Tk 4.82 crore from 53,708 vehicles that crossed the bridge.
In the last 5 days — From June 11 midnight to June 16 midnight — Tk 16.26 crore has been collected from 2.14 lakh vehicles at the Bangabandhu Bridge.
Bangabandhu Bridge collected Tk 3.80 crore — the highest toll in almost 26 years — on June 13, 2024, from 53,708 vehicles that crossed the bridge in 24 hours from midnight.
