State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Zunaid Ahmed Palak has unveiled the book on e-governance provisions.

The book titled "E-Governance Bidhanbali" on information and service delivery from government departments was unveiled at the ICT department's conference on Wednesday.

“The country's IT sector stands on four strong pillars of skilled human resource development, connectivity, e-government and ICT industry promotion. E-government is one of the strongest and most important of these four pillars,” said Palak.

"We have been able to build this pillar on a strong foundation in exchange for the qualifications, skills, labour and merit of those in the government system of the country,” he added.

The book was compiled and edited by NM Zeaul Alam, senior secretary, Department of Information and Communication Technology, Dr Abdul Mannan, executive director, Bangladesh Computer Council and Dr Shirin Sabnam, deputy secretary, Finance Division.

For the first time in Bangladesh, a book containing e-governance related laws, rules, policies, guidelines, important circulars and notifications has been published. This will efficiently provide information and services from government departments and assist in the decision-making process.

In addition, through this book, the existing rules and regulations required by the field and central level officials will be immediately available.

The book includes a total of 15 e-governance Acts, eight rules, 12 policies, eight strategies, 16 guidelines, 30 circulars and office memorandums issued by various ministries and divisions and state institutions.
