Pankaj Bhattacharya, Oikya NAP president and one of the organisers of the country's Liberation War, died at a city hospital on Monday.
The 83-year-old breathed his last at 12:25am at the capital's Health and Hope Hospital.
The veteran politician was admitted to the hospital on April 17. He suffered a cardiac arrest on Saturday morning. He was then put on life support.
Born in August 1939, Pankaj grew up in Noapara of Chattogram's Raozan.

In a message of condolence, she prayed for the salvation of his departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
