Paper book on Holey Artisan attack case ready for HC hearing

A paper book prepared by the government about Holey Artisan Bakery terror attack case is ready for the High Court (HC) to start hearing on its death references and appeals of cases.

Md Saifur Rahman, Special Officer of Bangladesh Supreme Court, confirmed the matter to The Business Post.

Earlier on 27 November 2019, a court in Dhaka sentenced seven people to death in connection with a deadly siege in 2016 of a popular cafe in the capital.

On July 1, 2016, armed militants stormed Holey Artisan Bakery at diplomatic zone in Dhaka's Gulshan area killing nine Italians, seven Japanese, two Bangladeshis, one Indian and one Bangladesh-born US citizen.

Besides, two police officers were also killed during the 12-hour standoff.
