The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Planning Ministry on Sunday directed the ministry to submit a list of long-running projects that have shown slow progress and have received repeated time extensions.

The committee also instructed the ministry to provide detailed reasons for the delays in their report, which is to be presented at the next meeting.

The meeting, held at Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban and chaired by MA Mannan, focused on expediting project implementation.

The committee urged concerned ministries and departments to review and improve procedures to increase the work speed of on-going projects.

Emphasising the need for faster and more dynamic development, the meeting called for coordinated participation from all parties involved in project implementation.

Parliamentary body wants Livestock Dept recruitment postponed

Besides, the committee also formed a three-member committee, comprising BM Kabirul Haque, Nuruddin Chowdhury Noyon and Moshiur Rahman Mollah Shajal, to look into the graft allegation brought in the vaccine purchasing bid process.

The committee has been asked to submit its report within 15 working days.

Committee members including SM Rezaul Karim, Abdur Rahman, BM Kabirul Haque, Soto Monir, Nuruddin Chowdhury Noyon, Md Rashiduzzaman, Mushtaque Ahmed Ruhi, Moshiur Rahman Mollah Shajal, Ashika Sultana and officials concerned of the ministry including its secretary were present there.
