The number of Grade Point Average (GPA) 5 achievers and the percentage of the pass rate decreased in this year's Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations under Chattogram Education Board.
A total of 12,670 students secured GPA-5 while last year the number was 13,720. The Pass percentage of pass rate is 80.50 this year which was 89.39 per cent in the previous year.
Meanwhile, a total of 8.89 percentage points of pass rate declined from that of the previous year, board sources said.
Out of 93,997 examinees from 267 colleges, a total of 74,072 passed the examinations held in November-December last year.
Among the successful, 35,885 students are male and 38,188 are female.
A total of 12,670 students secured GPA (Grade Point Average) - 5 in the examination.
Of them, 5,564 male and 7,106 female students obtained GPA-5, according to an official copy of the result.
Female students have outperformed the male candidates in this year's in HSC exam in both pass rate and GPA-5 under the board.
The girl's pass rate on the education board is 82.92 per cent while the pass rate of boys is 77.92 per cent, the official copy added.
